The 2008-2009 School Year at Burnett
Began on Tuesday, August 19

Classes resumed on Tuesday, August 19th, with the same school hours as last year. Classes for upper grade students begin at 8:40 and end at 2:45. Classes for AM Kindergarten students begin at 8:40 and end at 1:10. Classes for PM Kindergarten students begin at 10:10 and end at 2:40.

EARLY MORNING READING PROGRAM: Students will not be allowed on the playground before 8:20. An Early Morning Reading Lab, which starts at 7:30 AM, is available to assist parents who cannot bring their students after 8:20, and to promote our goal of increased reading stamina. The program is available to all students in grades 1-6 who need it, whether every day or just occasionally.

Students must NOT be dropped off before 7:30; there will be no one to supervise them before then.

CLASS PLACEMENTS: Class lists will be posted outside the school office on Friday, August 15th, at 5:00 PM. Please be aware it may be necessary to reassign some students after school starts. This is normally done after the end of the first two weeks, when revised enrollment figures are available.

REGISTRATION: If you wish to register a student, please come to the Burnett school office. We urge you to register your child as soon as possible. Placement at your neighborhood school is on a first come, first served basis!

SCHOOL OFFICE OPEN: The Burnett School office is open 8:30-4:00. The telephone number is 201-6360.
